Ephedra Torreyana, or more commonly know as Torrey's Jointfir, is a subshrub shrub with green foliage and white flowers of the genus Ephedra. It has a slow growth rate and a height of 1 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It's active growth period is spring, blooms during early spring, is intolerant of shade and is routinely available commercially. Ephedra Torreyana or Torrey's Jointfir's floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas and Utah.
