Mentzelia Decapetala, or more commonly know as Tenpetal Blazingstar, is a forb/herb (a forb/herb is a non-woody plant that is not a grass) with green foliage and white flowers of the genus Mentzelia. It has a rapid growth rate and a height of 3.5 feet at maturity. Its duration is biennial or bi-annual which means it can grow or bloom twice, in the first year and the following year. It's active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during mid summer, is intolerant of shade and is routinely available commercially. Mentzelia Decapetala or Tenpetal Blazingstar's floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Colorado, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Wyoming.
