Gypsophila Elegans, or more commonly know as Showy Baby's-Breath, is a forb/herb (a forb/herb is a non-woody plant that is not a grass) of the genus Gypsophila. Its duration is annual which means it grows for one season only. Gypsophila Elegans or Showy Baby's-Breath's floral region is North America US Lower 48 and Alaska, specifically in the states of Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Utah, Virginia, Vermont and Wisconsin.
