Carex Limosa, or more commonly know as Mud Sedge, is a graminoid with green foliage and green flowers of the genus Carex. It has a slow growth rate and a height of 1.8 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It's active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during late spring, is intolerant of shade and is routinely available commercially. Carex Limosa or Mud Sedge's floral region is North America US Lower 48 and Alaska, specifically in the states of Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
