Ammophila Arenaria, or more commonly know as European Beachgrass, is a graminoid with green foliage and yellow flowers of the genus Ammophila. It has a moderate growth rate and a height of 2 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It's active growth period is spring and fall, blooms during spring and is intolerant of shade. Ammophila Arenaria or European Beachgrass's floral region is North America US Lower 48 and Hawaii, specifically in the states of California, Hawaii, Maryland, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Washington.
