Agropyron Desertorum, or more commonly know as Desert Wheatgrass, is a graminoid with green foliage and yellow flowers of the genus Agropyron. It has a moderate growth rate and a height of 2 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It's active growth period is spring and fall, blooms during early spring and is intolerant of shade. Agropyron Desertorum or Desert Wheatgrass's floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
