Juncus Castaneus, or more commonly know as Chestnut Rush, is a graminoid with green foliage and brown flowers of the genus Juncus. It has a slow growth rate and a height of 1.5 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It's active growth period is summer, blooms during summer, is intolerant of shade and is routinely available commercially. Juncus Castaneus or Chestnut Rush's floral region is North America US Lower 48 and Alaska, specifically in the states of Alaska, Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming.
