Bromus Kalmii, or more commonly know as Arctic Brome, is a graminoid with green foliage and yellow flowers of the genus Bromus. It has a rapid growth rate and a height of 3 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It's active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during early summer, is tolerant of shade and is routinely available commercially. Bromus Kalmii or Arctic Brome's floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Connecticut, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Virginia, Vermont and Wisconsin.
