Thuja Occidentalis, or more commonly know as Arborvitae, is a tree with green foliage of the genus Thuja. It has a slow growth rate and a height of 50 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It's active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during mid spring and is somewhat tolerant of shade. Thuja Occidentalis or Arborvitae's floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Connecticut, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont and Wisconsin.
