Barbarea Orthoceras, or more commonly know as American Yellowrocket, is a forb/herb (a forb/herb is a non-woody plant that is not a grass) of the genus Barbarea. Its duration is biennial or bi-annual which means it can grow or bloom twice, in the first year and the following year. Barbarea Orthoceras or American Yellowrocket's floral region is North America US Lower 48 and Alaska, specifically in the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
