Carex Flava, or more commonly know as Yellow Sedge, is a graminoid of the genus Carex. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. Carex Flava or Yellow Sedge's floral region is North America US Lower 48 and Alaska, specifically in the states of Alaska, Connecticut, Idaho, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
