Swordleaf Rush (Juncus Ensifolius)
Juncus Ensifolius, or more commonly know as Swordleaf Rush, is a graminoid with green foliage and purple flowers of the genus Juncus. It has a moderate growth rate and a height of 2 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It’s active growth period is summer, blooms during summer and is somewhat tolerant of shade. Juncus Ensifolius or Swordleaf Rush‘s floral region is North America US Lower 48, Alaska and Hawaii, specifically in the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Nevada, New York, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
