Amaranthus Retroflexus, or more commonly know as Redroot Amaranth, is a forb/herb (a forb/herb is a non-woody plant that is not a grass) of the genus Amaranthus. Its duration is annual which means it grows for one season only. Amaranthus Retroflexus or Redroot Amaranth's floral region is North America US Lower 48, Alaska and Hawaii, specifically in the states of Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
