Sarracenia Purpurea, or more commonly know as Purple Pitcherplant, is a subshrub forb/herb of the genus Sarracenia. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. Sarracenia Purpurea or Purple Pitcherplant's floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Alabama, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, Washington and Wisconsin.
