Artemisia Frigida, or more commonly know as Prairie Sagewort, is a subshrub with gray-green foliage and white flowers of the genus Artemisia. It has a rapid growth rate and a height of 2 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It's active growth period is spring and fall, blooms during summer and is somewhat tolerant of shade. Artemisia Frigida or Prairie Sagewort's floral region is North America US Lower 48 and Alaska, specifically in the states of Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
