Overcup Oak (Quercus Lyrata)
Quercus Lyrata, or more commonly know as Overcup Oak, is a tree with green foliage and yellow flowers of the genus Quercus. It has a moderate growth rate and a height of 80 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It’s active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during mid spring and is somewhat tolerant of shade. Quercus Lyrata or Overcup Oak‘s floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Jersey, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
