Mississippi Buttercup (Ranunculus Laxicaulis)
Ranunculus Laxicaulis, or more commonly know as Mississippi Buttercup, is a forb/herb (a forb/herb is a non-woody plant that is not a grass) with green foliage and yellow flowers of the genus Ranunculus. It has a slow growth rate and a height of 1.2 feet at maturity. Its duration is annual which means it grows for one season only. It’s active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during late spring, is somewhat tolerant of shade and is routinely available commercially. Ranunculus Laxicaulis or Mississippi Buttercup‘s floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
