Gumbo Limbo (Bursera Simaruba)

Bursera Simaruba, or more commonly know as Gumbo Limbo, is a tree shrub with green foliage and green flowers of the genus Bursera. It has a rapid growth rate and a height of 40 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It’s active growth period is spring, blooms during spring and is tolerant of shade. Bursera Simaruba or Gumbo Limbo‘s floral region is North America US Lower 48, Puerto Rico and The Virgin Islands, specifically in the state of Florida.
