Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. Polygonum Sachalinense or Giant Knotweed's floral region is North America US Lower 48 and Alaska, specifically in the states of Alaska, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, Washington and Wisconsin.
