Desert Globemallow (Sphaeralcea Ambigua)
Sphaeralcea Ambigua, or more commonly know as Desert Globemallow, is a subshrub forb/herb with green foliage and orange flowers of the genus Sphaeralcea. It has a rapid growth rate and a height of 5 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It’s active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during early spring, is intolerant of shade and is routinely available commercially. Sphaeralcea Ambigua or Desert Globemallow‘s floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah.
