Ilex Cassine, or more commonly know as Dahoon, is a tree shrub with dark green foliage and yellow flowers of the genus Ilex. It has a moderate growth rate and a height of 26 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It's active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during spring and is tolerant of shade. Ilex Cassine or Dahoon's floral region is North America US Lower 48 and Puerto Rico, specifically in the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas.
