California Oatgrass (Danthonia Californica)

Danthonia Californica, or more commonly know as California Oatgrass, is a graminoid with green foliage of the genus Danthonia. It has a moderate growth rate and a height of 2 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It’s active growth period is fall winter and spring, blooms during early spring and is intolerant of shade. Danthonia Californica or California Oatgrass‘s floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Massachusetts, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
