Annual Bluegrass (Poa Annua)
Poa Annua, or more commonly know as Annual Bluegrass, is a graminoid with green foliage and yellow flowers of the genus Poa. It has a rapid growth rate and a height of 0.3 feet at maturity. Its duration is annual which means it grows for one season only. It’s active growth period is spring, blooms during mid spring and is somewhat tolerant of shade. Poa Annua or Annual Bluegrass‘s floral region is North America US Lower 48, Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico, specifically in the states of Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
